A breakdown of the procedural system I created using Blender's Geometry Nodes to build the complete, stylized city for my project. This tool allows for the rapid creation of unique and varied buildings based on a pre-defined modular asset kit.
System Features:
Modular Asset Kit: A collection of low-poly, optimized windows, doors, roofs, and other architectural elements.
Geometry Nodes Graph: The core of the system, containing the logic for assembling buildings, randomizing floors, and distributing details.
Parametric Control: The system is designed as an artist-friendly tool, with parametric modifiers that allow for easy control over building height, style, and other features to achieve a non-repetitive, organic look.
Impact:
This procedural tool reduced the time to create a unique, detailed building from over 5 hours (manual modeling) to under 15 minutes.
