This project showcases the complete UI and in-game asset design for "Noir City," a mobile-first HTML5 game. The primary goal was to create a visually compelling noir-themed experience while adhering to strict performance constraints for web and mobile platforms.
My key contributions included:
Art Direction and visual style definition.
UI/UX design for both portrait and landscape modes.
Creation of all in-game characters, symbols, and background assets.
Implementation of a robust asset optimization strategy.
Technical Highlight:
To ensure high performance, I developed a system of optimized texture atlases and bitmap fonts. This approach was crucial in achieving the target of 60 fps on most mobile devices while keeping the final build lightweight.
